PURI/BHUBANESWAR: Tens of thousands of devotees, who were gathered in pilgrimage city of Puri in Odisha on Sunday to take part on world famous Rath Yatra of Shree Lord Jagannath and his Siblings, Shree Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra, got free hot cooked meal and cold drinking water like every year , which was provided by BJP MP Naveen Jindal led Jindal Steel and Power’s CSR wing, JSP Foundation led by Chairperson , Shallu Jindal.
Under its Mission Zero Hunger programme, the foundation serving hot cooked meals, which included rice, dalma (a medley of lentils and vegetables), and Khatta (a chutney made from tomatoes, jaggery, and dates). In coordination with the district administration, the Foundation set up a specialized stall with a live kitchen near Sri Gundicha Temple in Puri and continuing its services with the support of more than 100 volunteers.
Lakhs of devotees were seen taking cooked meals and cold drinking water at the Mission Zero Hunger, Free Hot Cooked Meal Service, center of the JSP Foundation on the auspicious occasion Rath Yatra.
JSP Foundation’s Mission Zero Hunger, Free Hot Cooked Meal Service, center stationed on Grand Road, Saradhabali and Bus Stand, drew huge devotees in the first day.
Besides, free cooked meals, free cold drinking water also provided to the devotees.
In order to to prevent dehydration among the lakhs of devotees during RathYatra, JSP Foundation distributed ORS packets to the Deputy Director and District Veterinary Officer at the Puri District Headquarters.
Keeping in view of prevailing monsoon, in support of frontline workers, police personnel, paramilitary forces and other government officials during the RathYatra2024, the JSP Foundation has contributed Raincoats as part of our social responsibility efforts.
President & Group Head (CSR) of Jindal Steel & Power Shri Prashant Kumar Hota thanked the district administration, state government, Puri Bus Owners Association and local youths for the success of this grand food service during Rath Yatra
Inspired by JSP Chairman and Lok Sabha MP , Naveen Jindal and JSP Foundation Chairperson Shallu Jindal’s pro people and philanthropic approach, officials and staffs of JSP and JSP Foundation led by Prashant Hota, President and Group Head – CSR, Education & Sustainability, and Odisha Head Corporate Communications, Jindal Steel & Power were now missing no stone unturned to reach out to more than 1 Million Devotees during the festival. The services by JSP Foundation will continue till Sunabesha Day.
