BHUBANESWAR:A bill was passed on December 9 in the recently concluded 17th Assembly session regarding the issue of salary and allowance hike of MLAs and former MLAs. An important meeting of the MLAs was held at the BJP state office today in this regard.
The MLAs have written to the Chief Minister to reconsider the salary and allowance hike of the MLAs in line with the public opinion, said Health and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling.
State President Shri Manmohan Samal, Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Parvathi Parida and General Secretary (Organization) Shri Manas Kumar Mohanty along with all the party ministers and MLAs were present in the meeting.
