BHUBANESWAR: For 45 years, the treasure of Shrimandi has not been opened. Since 2018, the state government has not opened the gems at various festivals, which has hurt the sentiments of countless Jagannath devotees.
The state BJP has always been demanding the opening of the gem to clear the doubts of Jagannath devotees and common people. The entire responsibility of opening the gems lies with the state government. 4 August 2023 Why is the state government so afraid to excavate gems despite the recommendations of the management committee of the Shrimandi? What is the reason for ignoring the recommendations of both the High Court and the Management Committee of the Shrimandi? Have you run out of gems? Such irresponsibility and unwillingness of the state government is causing doubts in the minds of countless Jagannath lovers. Why the state government has not opened the gem despite the High Court order has now become a big question. The BJP led by state spokesperson Dilip Mallik protested in front of Ram Mandir against the state government’s attitude towards the gem.
