BHUBANESWAR:Feeling that BJP is winning the Nuapada by-election, BJD is now biting its tongue with medicine. Even after leaving the government, it has started its usual gangsterism. BJD leaders are now beating up BJP workers and supporters and issuing death threats. In this regard, the BJP delegation led by State Vice President Dr. Jatin Mohanty has demanded that the State Chief Election Officer take strict action against them.
On October 30, Jitu Adbang, a BJP supporter and a young man from the Scheduled Caste community of Nuapada, was abused in obscene language, beaten up and threatened to kill by BJD leader Pranab Das (Bobby) and Khariar MLA Adhiraj Panigrahi.
They warned him not to campaign for the BJP, which is a clear violation of the election code of conduct. Although a complaint was filed against them at the police station, the police have not taken any action so far. The BJP delegation has demanded the immediate arrest of the accused Bobby Das and MLA Njeraj Panigrahi for a free and crime-free election.
The delegation included MP Anita Subhadarshini, state spokesperson Dilip Mallik, Rajendra Panda, Legal Cell state coordinator Jayant Jena, and speaker Satyaramiyi Mukadam.
