BHUBANESWAR: Leader of Oppositions in Odisha State Assembly Pradipta Kumar Nayak led a BJP delegation and met Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal over the death of Haridaspur in-charge Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) Smitarani Biswal and demanded that the case be investigated by the CBI.
Naik alleged that although they have been trying to seek the Government’s attention for a discussion over the issue since the commencement of the Assembly’s current session, they have not been allowed to speak.
“Names of four persons involved in the woman PEO’s death have been dropped from the case. Prime accused Rupesh Bhadra hasn’t been booked under IPC Section 302. We are also not allowed to speak anything on this in the House,” alleged Naik.“We demand all the accused be booked under Section 302 and a CBI probe be initiated into the case,” he added.
