NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: BJD’s Manas Mangaraj was on Friday took oath as a RajyaSabha MP. Mangaraj took oath in the presence of Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu in the chamber of Rajya Sabha. BJD Sulata Deo also took oath as Rajya Sabha MP.
“A big honour bestowed on me by Hon’ble CM Shri Naveen Patnaik . Profuse thanks to my leader for reposing trust in me. A big thanks to all my well wishers. Under the leadership of our CM, with the blessings of Mahaprabhu Jagannatha and with the support of my friends and followers, I will present Odisha’s case strongly in the Parliament. Jai Jagannath. Bande Utkala Janani,” BJD MP Mangaraj said,
As many as 27 of the 57 members elected to the Rajya Sabha during the recent biennial polls on Friday took oath owing allegiance to the Constitution as required to commence their functioning as members of the Council of States.
The remaining MPs who didn’t take oath today are likely to do so on the first day of the monsoon session of Parliament.
