BHUBANESWAR: After BJD leader VK Pandian taken VRS from IAS job, his wife, 2000 batch IAS Officer Sujata R Kartikeyan also took VRS from service.
Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions confirmed her voluntary retirement will take effect from March 13, 2025. The Central Government also waived the mandatory three-month notice period. The Odisha Government was directed to issue a formal notification regarding her retirement.
Pandian had taken VRS before 2024 general elections and was a key player for BJD while his wife Sujata took VRS after BJD voted out of power and Naveen Patnaik lost his Chief Minister post.
Pandian was heading 5T Department while Sujata was heading Mission Shakti Department, both were vote bank of BJD.
Pandian had said he took retirement from politics but he is very much active in BJD and travelling with Naveen Patnaik in Medical Tourism trips from New Delhi to Coimbatore to Kochi while both Pandian and Patnaik days back spotted at Tamil Nadu, last late night on Friday, both spotted at Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar.
