KENDRAPARA/BHUBANESWAR: The women wing of the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Monday took to street and held agitation in Kendrapara targeting the Centre over the increasing fuel prices.
As part of the State-wide agitation, BJD Women wing activists led by Kendrapara MLA Sashi Bhushan Behera and State General Secretary Jyostnarani Jena said the Union Government has completely failed to control the prices of petrol, diesel and other essential commodities.
From November 1, the party is holding protests in all 147 Assembly constituencies over the issue.As part of the protests, members of the party’s women, student and youth wings are staging demonstrations in front of all petrol pumps across the State, they said.Notably, private bus operators have decided to stop plying their vehicles across the State from November 16.
