BJD wins Padmapur Byepolls by 42,679 Votes

BHUBANESWAR: BJD’s Barsha Singh Bariha won the Padmapur byepolls by 42,679 votes at end of 23 round counting.

At the end of 23rd  round, BJD’s Bariha got 1,19,512, votes while BJP’s Pradip Purohit bagged 77, 466 and Congress’s Satya Bhusan Sahoo got 3548.

Counting of votes of 319 booths conducted on 14 tables . The by-poll for Padampur was held on December 5.

The fate of  BJD’s Barsha Singh Bariha, daughter of late MLA Bijaya Ranjan Singh Bariha,  BJP’s Pradip Purohit, who had won the seat in 2014 but lost to BJD’s Bijaya Bariha in 2019, and . Congress’s  three-time MLA Satya Bhusan Sahu, were in fray while BJD’s Bariha emerged as winner.
