BHUBANESWAR: BJD Organisational general secretary and MLA Pranab Prakash Das alias Babby Das is all set to represent Jajpur District Cricket Association in OCA elections.

 JDCA has sent Babby Das’s name to OCA for upcoming polls.

JDCA working secretary Gyana Das said that Association has sent name of MLA Das to OCA for upcoming polls. Meanwhile, Babby Das’s name figured in 73 members’ voter list. JDCA working secretary Gyana Das argued that MLA Babby Das’s contribution to district cricket was impressive and he possess multi-dimensional qualities.

In 2019 polls, Industrialist Pankaj Lochan Mohanty and Sanjay Behera were elected as President and Secretary of OCA respectively. OCA’s former treasurer Biswa Mukharjee said, Babby Das may eyes on bigger role as he can’t confine himself as only member and he might be eyeing on President or Secretary Post of OCA.

Since OCA veteran Ashirbad Behera, his son, Sanjay Behera, sitting Secretary sharing close bonding with MLA Babby Das, grapevines are on high as to what role the BJD MLA may play in OCA.

The Odisha Cricket Association is all set to go to polls on October 28. The polling will be held to the posts of president, vice president, secretary, joint secretary, treasurer and member of the apex council of OCA.

As per the notification issued by the Electoral Officer of OCA, the filing of nomination will be held on October 21, between 10.30 am and 5 pm at the OCA conference hall.

Similarly, filing of objection will be held on October 22 between 10 am and 12 pm while the scrutiny or disposal of objection will be carried out on the same day between 1 pm and 6 pm.

Candidates can withdraw their nomination on October 23 from 10 am to 1 pm and the valid list of candidates will be declared on the same day, the notification stated.

The election for five office bearers and one councillor will be held on October 28, and the results will be declared on the same day after the completion of vote counting.
