BJD MPs meet Union FM, seeks early release of SJTA funds from YES Bank

NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: Biju Janata Dal MPs from Odisha in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on Wednesday met Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and urged her to take steps to release funds of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration deposited in troubled YES Bank.

BJD delegation included RS MP Dr Sasmit Patra, BJD Kandhamal Lok Sabha MP Dr Achyuta Samata , RS MP Dr Amar Patnaik and Prasanna Acharya.

“Met the Hon’ble Finance Minister Smt Nirmala Sitharaman Ji to discuss the early withdrawal of Puri Jagannath Temple funds from Yes Bank. Accompanied by my Parliament colleagues from BJD Dr.Sasmit Patra ,  Dr. Amar Patnaik and Shri Prasanna Acharya,” Kandhamal MP Dr Samanta twitted.  

Sources said Union Finance Minister assured her full support that money is safe and will be released as soon as the current crisis is handled. Also, pressed for income tax exemption for those who got compensation under ABHADA scheme.
