ANGUL/BHUBANESWAR: Mines Ministry CPSE, Bhubaneswar Headquarters’ NALCO, has been under scanner of BJD MP Mahesh Sahoo and local affected of Angul district of Odisha.
BJD MP Sahoo, who was present at a meeting attended by NALCO CMD Sridhar Patra and Angul Collector Sidharth Swain over issues of CSR work, rehabilitation and resettlement issues, however expressed his dissatisfaction over the CPSE’s poor show.
MP Sahu asked the NALCO management to submit its reports on CSR and RR issues in last 3 years. MP Sahoo had also sought a report from NALCO over issues of local employment in the Company. MP’s Sahoo’s questionnaire put NALCO CMD Patra in a major hurdle , sources said.
Locals present in the meeting also alleged that NALCO doing nothing while pollution and other environmental issues are on rise. LAP 198 Praja Sangha President Dibya R Das, General Secretary SS Samal and MP Mahesh Sahu’s representative Dinesh Pradhan have also expressed their displeasure on NALCO’s work at project affected site.
The Locals demanding jobs for all those affected by the plant, more CSR activities in peripheral villages, the appointment of ITI-trained land oustees in NALCO and filling up all vacancies.
