BJD MP Jay Panda attends OCEAN Meet in Colombo

BHUBANESWAR: Odisha’s ruling BJD Lok Sabha MP from Kendrapara Parliamentary segment and Industrialist, Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda attended the Indian Ocean Conference in Colombo, Sri Lanka and batted on a new role emerging for India in the renewal of relationship with South East Asian Countries.

The Indian Ocean Conference has been jointly organised by the India Foundation, the S Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Singapore, and the National Institute of Fundamental Studies (NIFS) in Colombo. Indian delegation was led by Union External Affairs Minister Sushama Swaraj.

“The connection which India and Odisha shared with the countries of the Indian Ocean region and South East Asia was disrupted over time. However, the relationship is now renewing itself and a new positive role of India is emerging”, the powerful BJD Panda said,

Panda was one of the speakers at the 2-day Indian Ocean Conference wherein top government officials of participating countries discussed a wide range of topics including commerce, economy and environment.
