BHUBANESWAR: The BJP on Thursday alleged that BJD is tempting voters with cash for fear of losing. But unfortunately Biju Janata Dal has ruled Odisha for 25 years, but during the elections, it has made efforts to conduct the elections in an undemocratic manner.
For fear of losing the election, the ruling party loses its sense of self-interest. BJD has weaponized violence and murder in the hope of winning. BJD is tempting voters with cash for fear of losing. The leaders of the ruling party, ministers and MLAs are directly involved in such a heinous scandal. For example, under the instigation of Sambalpur BJD MP candidate Mr. Pranab Prakash Das, Siddharth Shah and Samarjit Patnaik are distributing cricket kits to voters in Chandrapur Basti of Biharipada in Sambalpur, music sets to various temples, and various attractive gifts to the youth.
Earlier, BJP complained to the district election officer but to no avail. This is a flagrant violation of the election code of conduct. State Spokesperson Urmila Mohapatra informed that the BJP delegation has submitted the video and photos to the State Chief Election Commission.Similarly, BJD leaders are openly forcing people within 200 meters of the booth to vote for BJD. They do not hesitate to threaten, glare and kill people.
A representative of the BJP met the Chief Electoral Officer of the state today with facts and evidence regarding the violation of the election code of conduct of the ruling BJD and demanded to take exemplary action. To make the general election free, fair and impartial, the Chief Electoral Officer of the state should investigate it and take strong steps. The remaining 2 phases of elections should be conducted in an orderly manner and free from violence and crime. Ms. Mahapatra requested the CEO to look into it.
