BJD MLA Pramila Mallick Faces SEC Music, Debarred from Campaigning

JAJPUR/BHUBANESWAR:  The Ruling BJD MLA from Jajpur’s Binjharpur, Pramila Mallick was on Sunday faced with music of  Odisha State Election Commission with the poll body putting no entry for her in Panchayat and Zilla Parishad Poll campaigns.

The SEC debarred MLA Mallick from campaigning for the ensuing elections, which has been scheduled to begin from February 16. Mallik has been debarred to take part in campaigning including giving interviews, making public utterances in media anywhere in the State for a period of 48 hours with effective from 10 AM of February 14, 2022.

Earlier, on the direction of State Election Commission (SEC), Jajpur Collector had issued notice to BJD Chief Whip in Odisha Assembly, Pramila Mallik for alleged violation of poll code during an election campaign at Zone – 27

During the Panchayat poll campaign at Zone – 27 in Jajpur district on Thursday night, Mallick allegedly said to the locals that if they will not vote for BJD, they won’t get the benefit of any government schemes.MLA Mallik was also shown black flags by locals while she had gone campaigning in the Pritipur Ranasahi area in Jajpur.
