BHUBANESWAR: Berhampur-born weightlifter K. Ravi Kumar is leading the race of BJD’s probable LokSabha Candidates for Berhampur Lok Sabha. If everything goes well, Kumar may fight against BJP’s Pradip Panigrahi.
No official confirmation yet. This comes after BJD failed to concede 2 MLA seats to Ramesh Jena that was a precondition for his joining the BJD. Since Kumar is a sportsperson, and has good popularity in entire Ganjam, BJD top brasses now eying on him, sources said on Saturday.
BJD contenders for Berhampur Lok Sabha now include K. Ravi Kumar, Ramesh Jena, Manas Mangaraj, Chandrasekhar Sahu, Subash Maharana, RC Chyaupatnaik.
Ramesh Jena wants 2 MLA candidate in Ganjam as per his choice in return he will resign from Congress and join BJD.
