BHUBANESWAR:  During the 2nd phase of elections in Odisha, booths 26 and 29 of the Kantamal assembly constituency have been occupied by BJD goons. Even the voters waiting to vote outside the booth and the supporters of BJP candidates were not allowed to enter and they were prevented from voting.

There was widespread violence in these two booths. This has been done with the help of local administration and polling staff. Despite the violent occupation of booths, the voting process was not suspended here. As a result, polling results in both the booths are poor. Due to the same incident and situation, the polling process was suspended in Booth No. 28 of Kantamal. But even though the situation in booth no. 26 and 29 was worse, the polling process was completed here. Such bias in the electoral system is disappointing. It is violating the election rules.

The truth could not come out as the presiding officer of booth no. 26 and 29 was with the ruling party. The BJP delegation led by former state president Mr. Sameer Mohanty has demanded the state election officials to re-poll in both the booths.

The Presiding Officer of Booth No. 108 of Loisingha Constituency of Balangir is working as a worker of Biju Janata Dal. Instead of holding free, fair and impartial elections, it is influencing senior voters to win over the ruling party. whose video and photos have been handed over to the CEO. Mr. Mohanty demanded that he should be arrested immediately and action should be taken against him.

State Secretary Kasturi Mishra, State Spokesperson Dilip Mallik, State Election Cell Coordinator Jayant Jena, Farmer Morcha Treasurer Biswajit Swain, Pravari Santosh Jena were prominently present in this delegation.
