BHUBANESWAR: Biju Janata Dal is afraid of losing the election. BJD has traditionally used government officials for party work in elections. With only 2 days left for the first phase of elections in the state, BJD has started distributing money for voting options. In recent elections, false promises, use of government money and money laundering have been influencing voters.
This time too, the Nabarangpur Lok Sabha constituency has adopted the same practice. In the presence of BJD Lok Sabha candidate Pradeep Majhi, his assistant BJD worker Trinath Bhatt is holding a bundle of money and distributing it on the open road. Which is violating the election code of conduct. State spokesperson Dilip Mallik informed that the state spokesperson Dilip Mallik has informed the state election officials about such conduct of candidate Pradeep Majhi and BJD worker Trinath Bhatt and demanded strict action.
Similarly, due to Biju Janata Dal being in power for many years, Bhadrak district Bhandaripokhri candidate Sanjeev Kumar Mallik has considered himself as the Kin. Mr. Mallik is making littel boys and girls dance in election campaign, which is violating the code of conduct of elections. Humanity has been forgotten in the desire to win BJD elections. Mr. Mallik demanded that strict action should be taken regarding such low-mindedness of Mr. Mallik.
A case was pending in the Odisha High Court against the names of Gania Block BDO Belita Manjari Naik and Kontapada Block bdo Birachi Narayan Behera, while their employment in election work is also violating the ECI guidelines. We have demanded to withdraw them from election work. Similarly, according to another complaint, Bhadreshwar police station under Mahanga constituency is showing immense favor to the IIC ruling party. Instead of accepting the allegations of the opposition parties, the complainants are being threatened. Mr. Mullick said that this is an obstacle to free, fair and impartial elections.
State Election Cell Coordinator Jayant Jena, State Working Member Unnati Parida, Farmer Morcha Treasurer Biswajit Swain, Sriranjan Mangaraj, Nandini Satpathy were prominently present in this delegation.
