BHUBANESWAR: With Bank Accounts of accused showing zero soon after her arrest and last transection over Rs 30 Lakh also missing, the Congress on Wednesday claimed that the ruling BJD government might topple if a fair probe of the Archana Nag Chand’s Honeytrap case is conducted.
The State government has been trying to hide the facts stored in electronic gadgets like pen-drive, laptop and mobile phone, Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja said. Illegal assets accumulated by Archana should be seized, truth must surface and wrongdoers must be awarded stringent punishment, the Kantabanji MLA demanded. He demanded SIT probe into the case.
Saluja alleged that ruling Party Ministers, MLAs and few IAS and IPS officers were regular at Acharana’s residence.
Opposition BJP also alleged that police have been shielding the delicate issue by acting on the instruction of the State government. Film Makers have announced to release a movie named ‘Mayabini’ soon.

Meanwhile, amid allegations and counter allegations over manipulations in Railways tenders, a photo of Waltair Division DRM Anup Satpathy’s with Honeytrap Mastermind Archana and her husband Jagabandhu Chand , too has gone viral in social media sites.
In this photo, DRM Anup Satpathy was seen posing with both Archana and Jagabandhu. Earlier, BJP had alleged that Archana had a bigger role in Railways tender works in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. With photo gone viral and Archana arrested on allegations of blackmailing, DRM Satpathy reportedly gone on leave., sources said.
A photo of Cabinet Minister Jagannath Saraka with Archana’s husband surfaced on social media. Similarly, Archana, her husband Jagabandhu Chand and former Speaker and Digapahandi MLA Surjya Narayan Patra were also seen in a single frame. Another picture of Congress MLA Suresh Routray’s son Manmath, with the couple also appeared on different social media platforms. She also appeared with former Minister KV Singh Deo, Hotelier Dilip Ray, few BJD leaders of Kalahandi and Balasore.
The Odisha Cricket Association is all set to go to polls on October 28. The polling will be held to the posts of president, vice president, secretary, joint secretary, treasurer and member of the apex council of OCA.
As per the notification issued by the Electoral Officer of OCA, the filing of nomination will be held on October 21, between 10.30 am and 5 pm at the OCA conference hall.
Similarly, filing of objection will be held on October 22 between 10 am and 12 pm while the scrutiny or disposal of objection will be carried out on the same day between 1 pm and 6 pm.
Candidates can withdraw their nomination on October 23 from 10 am to 1 pm and the valid list of candidates will be declared on the same day, the notification stated.
The election for five office bearers and one councillor will be held on October 28, and the results will be declared on the same day after the completion of vote counting.
