BHUBANESWAR: In major setback to BJD in Kendrapara, Biju Mahila Janata Dal former State General Secretary Jyostnarani Jena joined BJP in presence of State President Manmohan Samal and former President Samir Mohanty here on Sunday.
Jena was earlier served BJD Zilla Parishad Member (Zone-8) in Kendrapara and Kendrapara district Planning Board Member. She was a leading women face in Kendrapara.
Since Jena was not given importance in BJD due to mudslinging among top leaders in Kendrapara, finally she opted to join BJP to work under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Besides, politics, Jena also active in various socio cultural associations in Odisha and she did remarkable work in Kendrapara during COVID-19 outbreak. With Jena’s induction into BJP just before Assembly and Lok Sabha Polls, BJD may face ire of locals for ignoring their leader.
