Biju Babu’s Karmabhoomi Kendrapara gets a ‘Big Thanks’ from Naveen Patnaik for successfully Fighting COVID-19

BHUBANESWAR/KENDRAPARA: “If Biju Babu were alive today he would have been extremely pleased for your act, and I am proud of your act to contain the dreaded virus,” the Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was on Thursday thanked people of his late father legendary statesman Biju Babu’s Karmabhoomi, Kendrapara, in this way while commending their dedicated work during COVID-19 crisis.

Kendrapara tops the recovery rate of 77% in Odisha and the death rate is limited to 0.33%,which is lowest in India. The infection rate in Kendrapara is 2.25%, which is too also lowest in Odisha. Kendrapara houses large number of migrants counting more than 55,000 and the district stands next to Ganjam. This has made Kendrapara as a model district, the CM said.

The Chief Minister Patnaik said he has always given special attention to Kendrapara and as part of his latest contribution to the people of the district, he announced to provide ambulance fitted with ventilators. He directed the district administration to provide ration cards to all eligible beneficiaries at the earliest

Chief Minister Patnaik, who is battling very hard to bring the situation under control in his home district of Ganjam and in State Capital of Bhubaneswar, never missed the chance to recognise the contribution and services rendered by his Party MLAs like Pratap Keshari Deb in Aul, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak in Mahakalpada, Sabitri Agarwal in Patkura, Dhurba Sahoo in Rajnagar ,Sashi Bhushan Behera in Kendrapara and MP Anubhav Mohanty along with PRI representatives , particularly Sarapanchas, Samiti  and Zilla Parishad Members, besides District and Police Administrations led by able Collector Samartha Verma and SP Niti Sekhar.

Chief Minister Patnaik said Sarpanches must remain alert till the fear of coronavirus is over. The Chief Minister said the Sarpanches have come up to his expectations by exercise powers of Collectors vested in them to contain COVID-19. He said they deserve heartfelt thanks for their efforts. Patnaik said nearly 55000 people have returned to Kendrapara from different regions of the country during coronavirus pandemic and added that the COVID management has been very effective throughout. 

Patnaik directed the Special Relief Commissioner to provide required assistance to the people of Kendrapara in view of low pressure system. The SRC has apprised the Chief Minister that Brahmani and Baitarani rivers are not in spate and said all efforts were made to tackle the possible flood like situation following the low pressure.The Chief Secretary said the process of development and coronavirus related work in Kendrapara will go hand in hand.
