BHUBANESWAR: Further Updates on Sri Barik,IIC, CRRI PS, Cuttack.
Approximately 5 lakh cash recovered during house sesrch at his Government Quarter located at Unit 1, Bhubaneswar. Searches continuing. He is being interrogated on the bribe demand and the source of recovered cash. Investigation continuing.
Today i.e 04.01.2026, a short while ago,Sri Bijay Kumar Barik, Inspector in Charge (IIC), CRRI P.S., Cuttack has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance at Rajmahal chhak, Bhubaneswar *while demanding and taking bribe Rs.40,000 from a licenced Liquor Vendor to allow his business smoothly*. The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered from the possession of accused Sri Barik, IIC and seized.
Following the trap simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Sri Barik from DA angle.
In this connection, Cell Division PS Case No 1/2026, U/s-7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered against the accused Sri Barik, IIC. Detailed report follows.
