BHUBANESWAR: Commissionerate Police has always shown “ZERO TOLERANCE” for criminals and anti-socials and stringent actions have been taken against persons who have indulged themselves in such criminal and nefarious activities. With urbanization crime has also evolved in different ways. After Commissionerate Police started “DADA BATI KU NA” this type of crime we could contend with strong hands. But using criminals and criminal activities, possession of different disputed properties have come to the notice of Police. On 25.03.2023 four such cases were registered in which a group of criminals demolished two shops under Nayapalli PS limit. The criminals with their henchmen bulldozed two shops and completely demolished them.
In this connection four cases have been registered in Nayapalli on 25.3.23 and were simultaneously investigated.
The peculiar features of these cases are that none reported the matter in PS and the report could be collected after intervention of local police. Though the owner of the shops was from Bhubaneswar, he didn’t inform anything to police till police reach him.
Back Ground: The first case was registered on the report of Sri Subash Ch Agarwal who was running one shop over Plot No 1470, Nayapalli, beside the NH. In his report he has mentioned that on 24.3.23 night his shops has demolished by criminals using JCB etc, damaging all the articles kept in the shops. Similarly the second was registered on the report of Pradeep Ku Samal who was also running another shop in the same plot which was demolished by the criminals. The 3rd and 4th cases were registered on the report of two individuals who alleged that on 24.3.23 night while the shops were getting demolished, they terrorized and looted their valuables. All these cases were investigated by a special team considering the sensitivity of the incidents.
During investigation it is ascertained that one person who has bought a portion of the land over which the shops were constructed, hired some local criminals to help him in demolishing the shops to take possession of the said land over which some dispute is continuing since long. Accordingly, the criminals assembled in a place and all of them came to the spot in the nights using bus, bikes and JCB and all on a sudden started demolishing the structures. When the shop owners and local residents opposed, the criminals took them as hostage and looted their mobile phones. In this demolition many criminals participated and even many ladies were used.
All the accused persons involved in this case have been identified and out of them we have arrested 7 criminals, who took active participations in these crimes.
The names of the criminals are Nakula Makakud of Malipada,Chandaka,Asish Jena, Niladri Bihar , Dipka Ku Das of Barmunda, Laxmikanta Das of Science Park Basti, Rajesh Ku Patra of Pipli, Pradeep Ku Baliarsingh of Delanga and Asish Ku Ray of Andharua.
The criminals arrested are professional criminals earlier involved in different criminal cases and by profession they are bouncers who are hired by criminals for such illegal activities.Men hunt is on and all the accused persons involved in these cases will be arrested soon.
