BHUBANESWAR:  With India gearing up to take on Islamabad, Odisha  Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday paid his last respect and  announced Rs 20 lakh ex-gratia for the family of Prasant Satpathy, who was killed in a terrorist attack at Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.

Chief Minister Majhi  joined in the funeral procession of Prasant Satapathy at his native Ishani village in Balasore district. Commerce & Transport Minister Bibhuti Jena, State BJP President Manmohan Samal, MP Pratap Sarangi, MLA Manas Dutta and the deceased’s family and friends were among those present.

He also announced a Government Job for the deceased’s wife Priyadarshini Acharya. The CM has assured that the State Government will take care of the family. The entire education of Prasant’s son will also be taken care of by the State Government, CM Majhi said in Balasore.

“I express my deep condolences on the passing away of Balasore resident Satpathy. The state government stands with the family,” he said.

It may be noted here that Jammu and Kashmir Government has announced Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia and Maharashtra government Rs 5 lakh to the victims of Pahalgam attack, CM  Majhi superseded the States and announced the highest amount of Rs 20 lakh for the family of Satpathy.
