BHUBANESWAR: Under 9th round, a total of 27 coal mines were put up for auction and 33 bids were received against 13 coal mines. Under 2nd Attempt of Seventh round, a total of 5 coal mines were put up for auction and 7 bids received against 3 coal mines.
Among the 27 Companies, Jharkhand’s Chaibasa Headquarters’ Rungs Sons Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Rungta Mines Ltd, submitted highest of 5 bids for various coking and non-coking coal blocks. Besides, Rungta Sons Pvt Ltd, other 26 Companies included ACC Limited, Amalgam Steel and Power Limited, Andhraminmet Private Limited, Bull Mining Private Limited, Ind Synergy Limited, Indermani Mineral India Pvt Ltd, J K Cement Limited, Jai Ambey Roadlines Private Limited, JMS Mining Private Limited, JSW Steel LimitedMaheshwari Mining (Pvt) Ltd.
Others were included , Nilkanth Coal Mining Private Limited, Nilkanth Infra Mining Limited, Ocean Capital Market Limited , OCL Iron & Steel Limited, Orissa Alloy Steel Private Limited, PLR Projects Private Limited, S M Steels and Powver Limited, Shanti G.D. Ispat and Power Pvt Ltd, Shrinath Khanij Private Limited, Sunflag Iron & Steel Co. Ltd, Tata Steel Limited, Agrasen Sponge Pvt Ltd, Mahan Energen Limited, Orissa Metallurgical Industry Private Limited and Thriveni Earthmovers Pvt. Ltd.
These coking and non-coking coal blocks were Babupara East, Badam North, Baisi, Bhatgaon-II, Chandrauthi, Dongeri Tal-II, Dumri, Duni Central, Jharpalam Thangarghat (Revised), Lalgarh South, Lamatola, South of Damuda, West of Shahdol (South), Mahan, Mara II Mahan, Thesgora-B/ Rudrapuri.
The Nominated Authority, Ministry of Coal on February 20 opened the bids for the 9th round and second attempt of 7th round of commercial coal mines’ auction. This round was launched on December 20, 2023.
The online bids were decrypted and opened electronically in the presence of the bidders. Subsequently, sealed envelopes containing offline bid documents were also opened in the presence of bidders. Entire process was displayed on the screen for the bidders. The bids will be evaluated by a multi-disciplinary Technical Evaluation Committee and Technically Qualified Bidders will be shortlisted for participation in the electronic auction, to be conducted on MSTC portal.
