Bhubaneswar Tahasildar Halts B Prabhakaran’s alleged Illegal Construction on Lord Lingaraj Land

    BHUBANESWAR: How the  Lord Lingaraj Debottar land, located only 200 metres away from the Biju Patnaik International Airport, was sold to Kiruthika Prabhakaran, wife of the mining contractor ,B Prabhakaran and construction activity was being carried out.Kiruthika Prabhakaran bought the 228-decimal land patch from one Hrushikesh Das for Rs 6.45 crore. The deed of sale was made on November 5, 2021 at Bhubaneswar.

    City Tahasildar along with Additional Tahasildar on Sunday seized containers used for construction activities allegedly carried out by mining contractor, B Prabhakaran, who heads Thrive Earth Movers Pvt Ltd, on the lands held by Lord Lingaraj Temple Trust Board under Bhimapur Mouza under Airfield police limits of State Capital.

    After series of media reports, the office of Bhubaneswar Tahasildar wakes up from deep slumber and swung into action. The officials , who visited the spot, hanged red flag at the construction site citing pending cases at Board of Revenue.

    Locals alleged that seized containers were shifted  to the construction site in late night to avoid public anger , which shows how local police acting on restrictions imposed by Tahasildar.

    Bhubaneswar Tahsildar, Pradeep Kumar Sahu said as the Board of Revenue Court has been hearing a revision case related to the patch of land, an order was issued to stop construction work on the land as per a directive of the Board of Revenue’s Member. Also, the administration hoisted a red flag on the land and sealed a container kept there.

    BJP State chief Samir Mohanty said , one way Government saying it developing Ekmara Khetra but other way trading Lord Lingaraj land.

    Earlier, the Bhubaneswar Tahasildar has written to Executive Officer of Lord Lingaraj Temple to seek ordered to impose section of 144 of CrPC at an illegal construction allegedly carried out by mining contractor  Prabhakaran under Airfield Police limits of State Capital.

    The Bhubaneswar Tahasildar in  a letter dated 28-01-22 to Executive Officer of Lord Lingaraj Temple mentioned about prohibition of unauthorised construction over deity’s land in Bhimpur Mouza nearby Biju Patnaik International Airport pertaining to Khata no-1935 plot -67 area , AC-1.150 decimals.

    Video footage shown, in which, even Thriveni Earth Movers Pvt Ld Prabhakaran’s officials were seen asking local Revenue Inspector to show her identity during the official’s visit to inspect illegal construction activities. Documents were prepared and purchase  also done within a week.

    “I am to say that , the land is question being the deity’s property and wrongly recorded in favour of a private person, revision cases bearing nos, 520/2020,521/2020 and 522/2020, have been filed before Board of Revenue. The land being the property of Lord Lingaraj Trust Board in Sabik ROR as held by DLRS Cuttack, the land has been restored in the meanwhile in its pre-recording position and the subsequent mutation patta has been cancelled,” the letter said.

    It further added “ Instances have been come to the undersigned that some construction work is going on over this land despite sub-judice in revisional court, besides, instructions are being received to stop the construction from higher authority,”.

    Local RI visited the spot with Temple staff but it has been found reported by RI, no Temple staffs were present on the spot. RI though stopped ongoing work for somewhat but latter the same remains unabated despite warning, Tahasildar said. After discussion with ACP Zone-ii , it has been decided to file 144 CrPC to obtain prohibitory order to stop construction work as there is every possibility of law and order, it added.

    Sources said, around 2 acres of land belongs to Lord Lingaraj on Khata No-544/286 , plot no 85,2/2573 and which value would be around Rs 50 Crore but mines owner family relative purchased it mysteriously at around 7 Crores.
