BHUBANESWAR:  Bhim Behera, a tribal youth from Patrapada block of Ganjam district, has shown what Chief Minister Naveen Babu could not do after being in power for nearly 10,000 days. The BJD government is not short of money, it has the power, but it has failed to provide clean water to the people. The BJD government was in power for nearly 10,000 days? It is the duty of the Chief Minister to take charge of the people but he did not do that. The water problem of the villagers was so acute that Bhim Behera of Patrapada block of Ganjam district spent 8 months in Kerala for water problem.

With the money he earned as a carpenter, he brought water to the people of his village through a pipe from a spring 2 km away. What Naveen could not do, a tribal youth showed by earning 8 months. And the picture of the Chief Minister’s own district is not the case of other constituencies. If the Chief Minister fails to provide drinking water to his district, how can he provide pure drinking water to the state?

Naveen Babu, who will be in government for nearly 10,000 days, has failed to provide water to the people. It is clear from this that the workers of BJ can be candidates for Chief Minister rather than Naveen Babu. Similarly, there is no water on either side of the river basin.  Mahanadi stirred up, where did it go? Where did it go when it said that it would be small on the river? The BJ government has completely failed to provide water to the people of Odisha.

The only aim of the BJD government is to grab the money of the centre. Therefore, water was not reaching the people of Odisha, nor was the Chief Minister aware of the problems of the people of Odisha. Naveen Babu, answer why they could not provide water to the people of Odisha. Today, SmartCity has made its mark in Malaria in Bhubaneswar, Diarrhea in Rourkela, Jaundice in Sambalpur, Cholera in Brahampur, Cholera in Cuttack etc. This is the result of Naveen’s hard work in the government for 25 years. The people of Odisha will definitely remove Naveen from the seat of governance this time.

Chief Minister Naveen Babu has ruled for 25 years and 10,000 days but still 40 percent of people are deprived of water. Water could not reach 24 lakh houses out of 88 lakh houses. Out of 46,000 villages, 11,000 villages have benefited from getting tap water. More than 50 percent of families in Odisha’s backward districts including Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kandhamal, etc. depend on drinking water. Chief minister’s secretary VK Pandian says that the opposition does not see any development. So 40 percent of people in Odisha will grow up from getting clean drinking water or is it a picture of 25 years of development?

Can’t provide water to people in 25 years of rule, is this a development? Today the ruling BJD party is talking about transformation. What transformative effect will the common people get from having access to clean drinking water? In Odisha, school children stop studying and walk 2 km to get drinking water. There were 2 thousand children studying in a school in Kandhamal, but now 362 children are studying in that school because the teachers send the students 2 km for water.

In Odisha, there are 30% schools without access to water. Will Naveen Babu give the answer? One job of the Chief Minister is to win the election. That is why Naveen Babu will “copy and paste” the program that the Indian government will do in the state. Modi government planned “Har Ghar Nal Pe Jal” through Jaljivan Mission but Naveen government changed its name and confused people by planning “Vasudha”. Modi government gave Rs 10,000 crores in the name of Jaljivan Mission but Naveen Babu diverted it and looted it. Yesterday, National President JP Naddaji said, “Jal Jeevan Mission is not succeeding in Odisha because the Chief Minister has given work to “blacklisted companies”. Can the Chief Minister respond to this? -State Vice President Golak Mohapatra
