BHUBANESWAR/KENDRAPARA: The Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSS) under the State Government’s Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department will announce the final bidders for the Rs 268.11 Crore Drinking Water project planed under Basudha Scheme for Aul Assembly segment held by BJD’s Pratap Keshari Deb, on December 16, sources manning the Jal ‘O’ Parimal Bhawan in Bhubaneswar said on Friday.
“Bidders like L& T, 4 others included KEC Ltd, NCC Ltd, MEIL , which got the Bhadrak project worth Rs 892 Crore and a joint bidder of UMSL& Krishna, who had submitted their technical bids, will also shared their technical presentation and after proper technical evaluation, final bidders will be announced on December 16,” sources added. Engineer –in-Chief (RWSS), Abhay Kumar Biswal said after presentation by bidders, the Department will evaluate their credentials and past projects records and then by December 16, final bidders will be announced for Aul-Kanika project.
Sources in Odisha Government said participating companies like KEC, is a global Engineering, Procurement and Construction major that has delivered iconic infrastructure projects in more than 100 countries while MEIL a Hyderabad based firm engaged in irrigation and drinking water projects. NCC Urban, a subsidiary of NCC, focuses on Urban Infrastructure Projects such as development of residential & commercial complexes, serviced apartments, SEZs, integrated townships and complexes with advanced building techniques while Larsen & Toubro is a major technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing and financial services conglomerate, with global operations. L&T addresses critical needs in key sectors – Hydrocarbon, Infrastructure, Power, Process Industries and Defence – for customers in over 30 countries around the world and UMSL is primarily an EPC and Logistics company having its registered office at Visakhapatnam and worked in projects that are being funded by global agencies like World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Basudha Scheme is the Odisha’s potable Water scheme. It will provide the best quality standard parameter drinking water.Government also launched the grievance help line number 1916.After completion of the project, the shortage of potable will be fulfill according to the need in Rajkanika and Aul blocks of Kendrapara, sources added. Days back, Odisha Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patanik had approved two rural piped water supply projects worth Rs 724 Crore western Odisha districts of Bargarh under Basudha scheme. The projects will be completed in two years and benefit 515 villages of Barpali, Bheden, Attabira, Bijepur, Gaiselet & Bargarh blocks.
