TALCHER/KANIHA: Tanvi Sangam’s Annual Fest “Basant Mela“ is being celebrated from December 23-24 , 2016 at PTS sports complex of NTPC Kaniha.
The mela was inaugurated by Chief Guest Arvind Kumar Regional Executive Director(East II) ,Guest of Honour Rekha Gupta ,President ,Vasudha Mahila Mandal,Debasis Sarkar,Group General Manager ,Talcher Kaniha and Smt Kasturi Sarkar ,President ,Tanvi Sangam in august presence of Ram Kuber ,Group General Manager,Talcher Thermal , senior officials and members of Ladies Tanvi Sangam.
The inauguration of Basant mela was followed by cake cutting ceremony and to mark the opening of mela, balloons were released by the dignitaries and senior ladies club members. As part of tradition, artists of the tribal dance group were provided with winter clothes.
On this occasion wheel chairs, tricycles & hearing aid were distributed among 30 physically challenged persons of nearby villages. In addition 30 filters were distributed to the recipients.
Later senior officials inaugurated the CSR and Welfare Stall put up during the mela , the stall highlighted the welfare activities of ladies club Tanvi Sangam and provided insights on CSR activities of Talcher Kaniha.
Thereafter Chief Guest of the occasion Arvind Kumar visited the food stalls of the ladies club members and enjoyed the delicacies of the variety of food items which was the main attraction of the mela.
In the evening ,Musical Progamme was held to uplift the spirit of basant mela function which was thoroughly enjoyed by the crowd. Around 50 vendors from various areas like automobile, handicraft, spices, electronics, and garment etc took part in the mela.
NTPC employees along with their family members and local villagers in very large numbers participated in the mela which concludes on 24.12.2016. During the closing day , in-house musical dance shows are planned to be organised which will be followed by lucky draw.
