BALASORE/BHUBANESWAR: The father of petitioner Seema Satpathy brought his grievances to the notice of the CM Mohan Charan Majhi through Jana Sunani, which was then forwarded to the DIG of Eastern Range, Balasore. Under the supervision of DIG, Eastern Range, the SP of Balasore was directed to investigate the case properly and ensure justice for the victim mother.
After diligent efforts, the Balasore Police’s IHATU team successfully executed a Non-Bailable Warrant against Kamalakanta Mishra, Seema’s husband, and rescued their minor child from his custody in New Delhi.
A team led by SI Lokanath Soren, ASI Dhaneswar Nanda, and C/650 Bikash Kumar Mohapatra worked tirelessly to track down Kamalakanta Mishra, who had been evading arrest and denying Seema custody of their child despite a court order granting her custody. The case originated from a dowry torture complaint filed by Seema Satpathy at Khantapada PS in 2016 (Case No-15/2016).
This successful operation showcases the commitment of Balasore Police to upholding justice and protecting civil rights, particularly for vulnerable sections of society like women and children.
