Baijayant Panda Thanks Assam Voters for a Landslide Mandate for BJP in Civic Polls

BHUBANESWAR/GUWAHATI: BJP National VP in charge of Assam and Delhi, Baijayant Jay Panda, also a former 4th MP from Odisha, on Wednesday thanked people of this north eastern State for a massive victory for BJP in civic polls. BJP is leading in 77 Municipalities of the 80.

The BJP National VP Jay Panda said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and commitment for north east fetching dividends for BJP.  The BJP National VP Panda also congratulated Assam Chief Minister Hemant Biswa Sharma and Assam BJP chief Bhabesh Kalita for the landslide victory in civic polls.

“I bow my head in gratitude to the people of Assam for the thumping victory of candidates from @BJP4Assam & its allies in the municipal elections.The victory reflects the public trust on our alliance guided by the visionary leadership of Adarniya PM Shri @narendramodi Ji,” Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted @himantabiswa.

It may be noted here that, due to Jay Panda’s pro-active role and well thought out polls strategies had helped BJP to bounce back to Power and became 1st non –Congress Government that retained power for second consecutive term.

Counting of votes for the Assam Municipal Election 2022 is underway. Polling for 977 wards in 80 Assam Municipal boards was held on March 6. Candidates of 57 wards were declared uncontested. The fate of 2,532 candidates will be decided after the counting of votes polled in Assam Municipal Election 2022 concludes.
