BHUBANESWAR/NEW DELHI: Sharing a photo of last rites of late great statesman Biju Patnaik performed at Puri’s Swargadwar on 25 years back, in which he was seen along with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and his elder brother Prem Patnaik, BJP National VP and former 4th times MP, Baijayant Jay Panda on Sunday paid rich tribute to the founder of modern Odisha, Biju Babu, whom he fondly called Biju Uncle. With entire Odisha paid tribute to the late tall man, the senior BJP leader too not missed to express his respect for Biju babu on his death anniversary.

Biju Patnaik (5 March 1916 – 17 April 1997) was an Indian politician, aviator and businessman. As politician, he served twice as the Chief Minister of the State of Odisha. Biju Patnaik’s younger son, Naveen Patnaik, is the current Chief Minister of Odisha. His daughter, Gita Mehta, is an English writer. His elder son Prem Patnaik is a Delhi-based industrialist.
