Baijayant Panda joins Dr S Jaishankar-Sarbananda Sonowal to review JICA Sponsored GWSP in Assam

BHUBANESWAR/GUWAHATI: BJP National VP In Charge of Assam and Delhi, Baijayant ‘Jay’Panda, also a former 4th times Parliamentarian, on Monday joined with Union External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, State Minister Hemanta Biswa Sharma and Ambassador of Japan to India Satoshi Suzuki to review  Guwahati Water Supply Project site built with assistance from Japan International Corporation Agency(JICA).

“Started the day with a visit to the Guwahati Water Supply Project site built with assistance from Japan International Corporation Agency(JICA). Then headed to Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra to attend the India-Japan cooperation event along with EAM Dr. S Jaishankar Ji, HE Ambassador of Japan to India Shri Satoshi Suzuki, CM Sarbananda Sonowal Ji, Senior Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Ji & others. I spoke about how under PM Narendra Modi Ji the relationship with Japan & the development of the North East has got turbocharged.After the event, over lunch, we had a thoughtful conversation on how to work together to ward off threats posed by aggressors in the region during these conflicting times,” Baijayant Panda tweeted@PandaJay.

Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishanker has said that good infrastructure is required to attract investment in Assam and the Centre is committed to the connectivity in the entire North East including Assam.Talking to news persons in Guwahati , he said that India and Japan are collaborating to enhance skill development, business and investment in a robust manner.

The Minister said that the visit of the Japanese Ambassador Satoshi Suzuki to Assam reflects how the Indo-Japan partnership can make a difference in India and more specifically towards the development of Assam. Speaking on this occasion, the Japanese Ambassador said that both the countries are collaborating for the development of the Northeast zone with special focus on Assam. He further said that development of the North-Eastern Region is indispensable for India to become a five trillion economy.
