Baijayant Panda Attends Late Arun Jaitely’s Statue Unveiling Ceremony at Kotla Ground in Delhi

NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: BJP National VP and In Charge Delhi and Assam, Baijayant ‘Jay’Panda flanked by Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju flanked and BCCI President and former Indian Skipper, Sourav Ganguly on Monday attended the statute unveiling ceremony in memory of former Finance Minister late Arun Jaitley at Delhi District Cricket Association in New Delhi.

Late BJP stalwart’s statue was unveiled at Feroz Shah Kotla Ground by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi as the veteran Saffron leader was earlier served as President of DDCA.

Minister Rijiju, BJP National VP Jay Panda and BCCI Boss, Ganguly hoped that the statute will continue to inspire the DDCA in coming days to come. They all recollected how late Jaitley played a key role in developing Kotla Ground as a global cricket venue.

A six-foot tall statue of late Arun Jaitley that installed inside the Arun Jaitley Stadium at the Feroz Shah Kotla ground here on his 68th birth anniversary on December 28 has come at a cost of around Rs 15 lakh and weighs around 800 kg. The veil that will cover the statue has cost Rs 1.5 lakh, said sources.

Jaitley was the president of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) for 14 years from 1999 to 2013, and now his son Rohan Jaitley is heading the body.
