BHUBANESWAR: On Wednesday Smt Babita Suna, ASI, Mahila P.S. Berhampur has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe Rs.10,000/- from a complainant to help him and his mother involved in a case registered earlier in Mahila PS, of which she was the Investigating Officer.
ASI Smt Suna was threatening to arrest complaint in the above case, unless she was paid the demanded bribe Rs.10,000/-. Finding no other ways, complaint reported the matter to Vigilance authorities.
Following which, Vigilance Sleuths nabbed Smt Suna, ASI, today, while taking bribe Rs 10,000/- from the complaint. The entire bribe money has been recovered from the possession of accused Suna, ASI and seized.
Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Smt Suna, ASI from DA angle.
In this connection, Berhampur Vigilance PS case no 7/2025 , U/s-7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Smt Suna, ASI. Detailed report follows.
