BHUBANESWAR: Ahead of the 2-days long Interactive Session slated for Thursday and Friday, BJD Organisational General Secretary and MLA Pranab Prakash Das (Babby Das)along with Party MLAs Pranab Balabantray and Devi Ranjan Tripathy on Wednesday visited the venue of meeting at Barmunda Groud in the State Capital and took stock of the preparations.
The BJD session seems aimed at countering BJP president’s JP Nadda’s Odisha visit. The frontal organization like students, youths and women wings leaders will participate in the September 29 meeting seesion while other state and district level leaders and campus committee representatives to attend the programme the next day on September 30.
BJP President Nadda is scheduled to embark on a two-day Odisha visit starting September 29. He will address a gathering of around 30,000 party workers in a bid to strengthen the outfit at grassroots level.
BJD MLAs, MPs, district presidents, Zilla Parishad members, block chairpersons, vice-chairpersons, mayors and corporators of Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Berhampur will also attend the party meeting on September 30.
BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is likely to address the party leaders through video conferencing, BJD sources said.
Chief Minister Patnaik had alreday announced that the party will start its annual Jan Sampark Padyatra from Gandhi Jayanti. The CM, in a letter to all leaders, had directed to prepare for month-long mass outreach programme.
