BHUBANESWAR:  Even though, the Odisha Police have arrested Fugitive Ex -Boy Friend  Advik Srivastava in connection with the B Tech Third Year Nepali Student Prakriti Lamsal alleged Suicide inside KIIT University Campus hostel in Bhubaneswar, RTI activists hit the street demanding action against University authorities.

Leading RTI activist, Prakash Das said immediate action should be taken against the authorities of the KIIT university who are threatening the students by conducting high level investigation into the Nepali student suicide incident

‘ We condemn the way Nepali students are being forcefully removed from universities. Now the authorities of KIT University have deliberately left Nepali students in Cuttack. What kind of house will they return? He has no money or tickets to travel from country to country. Nepalese students are now in a state of complete panic. According to media reports, they were suddenly evicted from hostel. The students have not eaten anything, they are lying in Cuttack station due to hunger, Das said.

‘ This incident is destroying the image and respect of Odisha. Government should intervene in this case immediately and make arrangements for how Nepali students will return to their homes safely. And strong action should be taken on Kit University’s head Achyuta Samanta and other authorities. All this is being done at the instruction of Achyuta Samanta. We demand to the government to provide justice to Nepali students,” the RTI activist said adding drew attention of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Higher Education Mknister Suryabanshi Suraj.

Nepali Student committed suicide inside her Hostel following her ex boyfriend , Advik Srivastava harassed her. Accused fled by flight, tickets of which are available with www.indianewsdiary.com . But later police arrested him.

The incident has raised concerns about the treatment of international students in India. Some fear that the university’s decision to remove Nepali students may be seen as discriminatory.
