BHUBANESWAR: The Opposition Congress on Tuesday demanded judicial probe into the shocking suicide case of B. Tech 3rd Year Nepali Student Prakriti Lamsal Suicide inside KIIT University Campus in Bhubaneswar, State Capital of eastern Indian State of Odisha.
While ruling BJP in Odisha, demanded arrested of KIIT University founder and BJD former MP Dr Achyuta Samanta. ‘KIIT University has crossed all limits and we demanded arrest of founder Dr Achyuta Samanta,” BJP MLA Babu Singh said.

BJD Chief Whip Pratap Deb criticised the BJP government for deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
The BJD MLA from Aul said “ the student suicide incident at KIIT University has brought condemnantion for Odisha in international level,”.
BJP MLA Tankadhar Tripathy termed the KIIT incident as ‘unfortunate’.
‘Nepal contributes in offering musk (Kasturi) to Lord Jagannath. However, the way the KIIT authorities assaulted the Nepali students for the protest is condemnable,” Congress MLA Bahinipati said.
Meanwhile, police in Bhubaneswar, have arrested Advik Srivastava (21), a third-year B.Tech (Mechanical) student at KIIT University, in connection with the alleged suicide of Nepali student Prakriti Lamsal (20). Advik was arrested under Section 108 of the BNS (abetment of suicide).
On the other hand, the police arrested two security guards deployed at KIIT, identified as Ramakanta Nayak (45) and Jogendra Behera (25), under Sections 126 (2) [wrongful restraint], 296 [obscene acts], 115 (2) [voluntarily causing hurt], and 3 (5) [joint criminal liability] of the BNS.
The university has removed the two employees from the service, stating that their comments are extremely irresponsible and were made in their personal capacity on the spur of the moment.
