Ayodhya turns into Fortress

    FAIZABAD/LUCKNOW: The Supreme Court will on Saturday pronounce its verdict in the Ayodhya land dispute case. The verdict was reserved on October 16 after a 40-day hearing.

    The ruling in the Ram Janmabhumi-Babri Masjid title suit will mark the culmination of a dispute that has been at the heart of communal friction in the country for decades.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with a late-night tweet on Friday, called for peace in the country and said that the verdict in the case will neither be anyone’s victory nor defeat. The aim of the ruling must be to give way to peace, unity and communal harmony, he said.The apex court will deliver its verdict at 10:30 am today. Follow live updates here

    A total of 60 companies of paramilitary force, RPF and PAC and 1200 police constables, 250 Sub-inspectors, 20 Dy-SPs and two SPs have been deployed.Double layer barricading, public address system, 35 CCTVs and 10 drones have also been deployed for security surveillance.
