BHUBANESWAR: BJP leader Jagannath Pradhan on Thursday night surrendered before Bhubaneswar DCP in connection with the attack on BMC Additional Commissioner Ratnakar Sahoo few days back and he was arrested soon after. Earlier five others were arrested including BJP Corporator Jeeban Rout, Bhubaneswar BJP Vice President Rashmi Mohapatra. Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena confirmed Pradhan’s arrest.
Pradhan’s supporters have blocked the National Highway near Vani Vihar Square while Pradhan is being questioned by the police inside DCP office before taken for medical examination. Pradhan produced before Bhubaneswar SDJM court.
” On June 30, I have publicly condemned the attack on additional commissioner of BMC Such a shameful incident is not acceptable nor should it happen in the future. Despite my absence in this incident, planned attempts were made to defame me and my party and the government from various aspects. OAS Association is also protesting demanding my arrest after being victim of this scheme, ” Pradhan said.
