BHUBANESWAR/BERHAMPUR: Accused Simanchal Patra, was Assistant Manager of Arundhati Jewellery Pvt Ltd Berhampur branch, and he stolen the gold ornament of 523 gram worth 33 lakh . Patra is son of Prafulla Chandra Patra of Brajraj Nagar under Bada Bazar police limits.
Basing on Branch head Manmohan Barik FIR at Bada Bazar Police limits of Berhampur, police arrested the accused, who himself an employees of the shop, and recovered 3 bracelet (220.430gm), Neck chain-3(284.400 gm), mangal sutra locket-1(18.400 gm) with total 523.23 gm gold worth Rs 33.38 Lakh.
The accused mortgage the same ornaments for Rs 19,70,000 at Manapuram Finance Bank Ltd and Muthoot Finance Bank, police said. He then spent the amount in casino games. Accsued Patra has been arrested and forwarded to court.
