BHUBANESWAR: The 2002 batch Odisha Cadre IAS Officer, Dr Krishan Kumar, who is now on Central deputation and functioning as Joint Secretary in Piyush Goyel led Ministry of Commerce, has been appointed as Central Prabhari for State’s Tribal dominated and left-wing insurgency hit south-western districts of Rayagada as part of the Central Government’s Aspirational District Programme.
The appointment Committee of the Cabinet under Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Persons Department of Personnel and Training has issued a notification in this regard.
Dr Kumar has been assigned for Rayagada in Odisha as Central Prabhari Officer (CPO). It may be noted that Dr Krishan Kumar has been an outstanding administrative track record through out his career in Odisha and also during his current posting with Ministry of Commerce. Dr Kumar had held many important Departments under Odisha Government and work with very efficiently, for which, his name still reverberates in State’s IAS circle in Bhubaneswar.
With Dr Kumar taken special charge of Rayagada, development initiative taken up by both the Central and State Government will be fast expedited, sources said.
As many as 10 senior IAS officers have been assigned as Central Prabhari for 10 Districts spread over 8 States including Odisha(Rayagada), Uttar Pradesh(Chitrakoot), Chhattisgarh(Bastar), Chhattisgarh(Korba), Chhattisgarh(Rajnandgaon), Haryana(Mewat), Telangana(Adilabad), Bihar(Katihar), Himanchal Pradesh(Chamba), and Jharkhand(Lohardanga).
