BHUBANESWAR:The temple city saw an exclusive launch of Odisha’s first ever International academy that combines Spa therapy with Ayurveda- “Ayur Spa International Academy”, simply put “ASIA”.

ASIA has been conceptualized by Nature Naturals Ayurvedic Lifecare, a state based Ayurvedic Clinic that’s been in the industry for more than a decade and exports organic and ayurvedic products and medicine to the Australian and the European sub-continent. ASIA will be a platform to churn out highly skilled therapists, beauticians, hair dressers, technicians etc., who will be trained exclusively to infuse the age old practice of Ayurveda in the Beauty and Wellness Industry of Odisha.

With the ribbon cutting and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, ASIA was launched amongst an august gathering. Celebrated actor Anu Choudhury, noted Odissi dancer Dr. Puspita Mishra were present as the guests of honor.

“The aim of ASIA is not only to re-introduce Ayurveda into the Beauty industry and into the lives of people but also to provide quality skill-based training to those who aim to build a career in this industry as most of the technicians come from economically weaker sections of the society. A proper education and training in this field will open a wider career scope while also making them financially stable and independent”, said Dr. Anita Misra, founder ASIA

ASIA is planned to cater to a wide range of people from all strata of the society- from school drop outs to highly educated homemakers. On achieving a regular beauty culture and hair dressing course certificate or even a short duration course certificate, an individual will be eligible for employment.

“The beauty and wellness industry is growing exponentially. There is a huge demand of skilled workforce in this field, both nationally and internationally. Due to excessive side-effects of synthetic and chemical products used and advised by untrained and/or negligent beauty technicians, people are going more organic and looking for age old remedies. ASIA is here to give skilled technicians to this industry and in a way bring back the age old Ayurvedic practice by infusing it with modern beauty techniques”, deliberated Sharada Bharaty, a well-known Cosmetologist who has been working in the wellness and beauty industry since 30 years.
