CUTTACK/BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Cricket Association senior Vice President and Eminent Industrialist, Pankaj Lochan Mohanty, was on Saturday elected as President of Odisha Cricket Association unopposed as he was the only candidate in fray.
M L Majumdar, OCA Electoral Officer M L Majumdar said, “Only one nomination from Mr Pankaj Lochan Mohanty for President was received on February 12. No objection was received against the nomination.”Hence, the nomination of Mr Mohanty was accepted as a valid one, he said . Last date for withdrawal of nomination was slated for February while Mr Mohanty was lone candidate in fray.
Mr Mohanty had to quit as OCA President after BJD leader Babby Das eyed on it while following BJD voted out of power, Das had resigned paving way for election. Since October 28, 2022, Mr Mohanty has been working as OCA Vice President. At present, Vice President Mr Mohanty is officiating as the President of the OCA.
“Under the circumstances, in exercise of the power conferred under Rule- 32 of the Rules and Regulations of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA), the undersigned, does, hereby, announce that the only nomination filed by Mr Mohanty is valid and uncontested,” notification said.
