CUTTACK/BHUBANESWAR: Till date, Kendrapara BJD MP Anubhav Mohanty has released 4 to 5 video messages while his estranged wife, Varsha Priyadarshini, has so far filed 2 FIRs against her estranged husband, 1 each at Purighat Police Station and Cyber Police Station in Cuttack. Earlier, she had also knocked the door of Police in Cuttack when the matter of divorce came to fore.
On the basis of the 2nd FIR, police registered a case under Sections 509 of the IPC and 67 of the IT Act. Further probe by police was underway.
On May 22, Varsha had filed 1st complaint against Anubhav at the Purighat police station in Cuttack. Varsha in her complaint accused Mohanty of posting videos on social media and creating fabricated stories about her. She further said the parliamentarian in the video provided false information on her, thereby tarnishing her image.
Earlier , Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Cuttack, Pinak Mishra had said that the FIR against Kendrapara Mohanty is being analyzed and legal action will be taken in accordance with the law if the charges are found cognizable.
Anubhav had claimed that Varsha has forced him to take the matter over social media. “Varsha has no evidence against me. If necessary, I will go to the supreme court also” he said. He has further challenged Varsha to go through forensic, lie detection, and medical tests.
MP Mohanty had also posted the order sheets of his divorce case on his official Twitter account and wrote “True copies of Family Court’s order sheets in my Divorce case for all to know that who sincerely wanted to restrict media & who strongly objected saying, nobody can stop media! But now, FIR against me! Have patience Varsha Priyadarshini, It’s just the beginning!”.
“I will knock on the doors of the highest possible court of law which is honourable Supreme Court of India to bring the truth to the fore. I will expose each and every truth behind you. I challenge you to undergo forensic, lie detection and medical test,” he had said.
