NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: This photo is moving in and around. Some asking who is she while some replying like this, perhaps from Lok Sabha TV Channel. Kendrapara BJD MP Anubhav Mohanty’s this photo was now a billion dollar question for both political and media circles.
If sources in Odia Film and Music Industry in Bhubaneswar and well as in Legal Fraternity in New Delhi are to be believed , Kendrapara’s BJD Lok Sabha MP , Anubhav Mohanty, had few months back , in a New Delhi Court, filed a Divorce petition against his actress wife Barsha after the actor turned MP fall in love with a non-Odia girl in National Capital, who reportedly working in Lok Sabha TV.
The love with non-Odia girl reportedly started since Mohanty served in Rajya Sabha and later it got boosted after BJD successfully sent him again to Lok Sabha while ensuring defeat of BJP stalwart Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda, who is now Saffron Party’s National VP-Spokesperson. Well placed sources in Odia film industry confirmed about Mohanty’s divorce petition in a New Delhi Court.
“As I know, MP Mohanty had filed a divorce petition against his wife Varsha Priyadarshini since 2 to 3 months back and for which, Barsha forced to move to Court against it and the BJD MP now in deep love affair with a non-Odia girl,” a leading Music Director told www.indianewsdiary.com. “As Varsha now realised that MP Mohanty will not accept her anymore in future, so finding now way out, she moved to Court for compensation,” he added.
Kendrapara, the much talked about Karmabhoomi of Biju Babu, bifurcated way back in 1993 from the undivided Cuttack when the legendary statesman was serving as Odisha Chief Minister and since then ,this costal district saw many ups and downs but continuously fighting to keep its glory intact.
Kendrapara rose from a small tiny district to political battle fields for many stalwarts like late Biju Babu, Surendra Nath Dwibedi, socialist Rabi Ray, Aul Raja Saheb Sarat Deb and today’s Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda and many more but it never witnessed such humiliations before as it is witnessing now since Biju Babu’s younger Chief Minister son , Naveen Patnaik successfully sent a Womanizer-cum-Habitual Drunkard like Anubhav Mohanty to Lok Sabha in April-May 2019 from BJD ticket.
The 8-page petition filed by MP Mohanty’s actress wife Varsha Priyadarshini at Cuttack SDJM Court, hearing of which is slated for Monday, tells its laud and clear that Naveen Patnaik did a blunder by fielding this nefarious actor in Kendrapara and ensuring his win against BJP’s National VP-Spokesperson, Jay Panda. “After a series of FIRs filed against MP Mohanty from Cuttack to Kendrapara on several cases, now his own wife alleging about physical and mental torture and harassment against him, which shows, the BJD MP is a habitual offender,” sources said.
“Let’s Naveen Patnaik show the same yardstick what he had done against Raghunath Mohanty and his son in Balasore after his daughter-in-law Barsha Soni Choudhury levelled harassment and toured cases. It is high time for the Chief Minister to sack the Kendrapara MP from Party and arrest him for openly and intentionally torturing his own wife Barsha,” a Kendrapara veteran close to Biju Babu’s Family, said here.
Varsha filed the case under the ‘Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act’ in the court of Cuttack SDJM under Section 12 for allegedly assaulting and harassing Varsha.. She alleged that Anubhav is a habitual drunkard and often drinks with his friends at home. Barsha alleged that whenever she tried to prevent Anubhav from drinking, he would get violent and physically assault her. She even alleged that Anubhav had the time and again tried to throw her out of the house. The Ollywood actress had even alleged in her petition that MP Anubhav has extramarital affairs with multiple women from the Odia film industry. On the other hand, the Kendrapara MP has said that he is yet to receive any legal notice from the court on the matter. He said let’s wait and watch and everything will be clear soon.
Varsha further accused Anubhav of being a womanizer. She claimed that she would wait for him to return home at the time of dinner and when he did, the MP would be in an inebriated state. She claimed she would cry the whole night and curse her luck for marrying Mohanty.
In her plea, Varsha has demanded house rent of Rs 20,000 per month, maintenance of Rs 50,000 per month, a compensation of Rs 13 crore, loss of earnings and medical expenses of Rs 2 crore from her husband. Anubhav and Varsha tied the knot in 2014. On financial bungling, the actress stated that though both of them had acted in several films together after marriage, Anubhav has not given her any money till date.
Citing the latest case of inhuman abuse, she said during the lockdown, Anubhav’s entire family left for Delhi leaving her all alone in the house. They neither enquired about her nor gave any money till their return on May 25. “I went through a lot of mental torture during the period,” said Varsha. On June 7, Anubhav and his father scolded Vasrsha in foul language for around two hours, she alleged. On June 11, they forced her to file divorce on mutual agreement.
