BHUBANESWAR:Another major event of Odisha AI Symposium-2025, Odisha AI Hackathon-2025 is being organized at 4 regional nodal centers of the state. The event is being organized for the central government by the AIC-SOA Foundation of the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), run by the Ministry of Education and Research (MoE).

While SOA was granted the status of Central Zone Nodal Center, the university was given the responsibility of organizing regional hackathons for seven districts of the state – Khordha, Cuttack, Puri, Jagatsanghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapara and Nayagarh.
Based on their skills and innovation, 16 teams were selected to participate in the hackathon. The central hackathon was organized on December 10 at AIC-SOA Foundation. The judging panel for the hackathon was Dr. Vishwal Prasthi from Software Technology Park of India (STPI), Shri Sameer Patro from Microsoft India Private Limited, Dr. Kaliprasanna Swain from Trident Academy of Technology, Bhubaneswar and Dr. Shakuntala Mohapatra.
The jury selected the top 3 teams from the contestants for the Odisha AI Symposium. These selected teams will showcase their innovations at the AI ​​Symposium to be held on December 18th.
The hackathon is being organized by the Odisha Society of Americas (OSA) and Odisha AI. The main objective of this hackathon is to create awareness about AI, inspire enthusiasm among students, and promote start-ups.
In this central competition, Team Plasticio won the first prize and received a prize money of Rs. 12000. This team included Dr. Jyoti Agarwal, Mr. Aman Patra and Ms. Samhita Sukanya.
Team Jeewan won the second prize of Rs. 8000. The team presented the AI-powered ‘Not Safe for Work’, which provides information on how to make internet use safe for children. The team consisted of Bhagyashree Bhalecha, Uday Garg, Mili Gupta and Manish Kumar Tiruwar.
Similarly, Smart Bloom won the third prize of Rs. 5000. This team has invented an IoT-driven ‘Automated Pollination System’ for vertical farming. The members of this team were Ankit Kumar and Avinash Kumar.
The winning teams will be guided to the Odisha AI Symposium. AI researchers, students and people interested in this technology are invited to attend the India AI Symposium.
