BHUBANESWAR: An Enigma Called Naveen Patnaik continued to rule India’s political map with Fame India magazine and Asia Post placing the Odisha’s maverick Chief Minister 10th most influential India among the list of 50, which was topped by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
While Prime Minister Modi has topped the list, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Home Minister Amit Shah have been ranked 2nd and 3rd, respectively. This apart, Odisha-born PK Mishra, who is the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, has been placed at 11th spot in the list.
Patnaik, 5-times Odisha CM and longest serving Chief Minister of the State, has remained as an invincible leader since 2000 assembly polls in the state. Under his leadership, Odisha has emerged as a role model state in disaster management, poverty alleviation, socio-economic development and hosting major sporting events.
Earlier, hailing the people of Odisha for their commitment during COVID-19 crisis and lockdown, the Chief Minister in his social media account has written about it.“Two months into lockdown, we have learnt much in terms of science, social & administration. We must re-strategise to stay ahead of the pandemic and at the same time bring normalcy in economic and livelihood activities,” CM Patnaik twitted.
“Social distancing is not social boycotting. Vulnerable population such as the elderly & those with comorbidities need extra care. We will plan a fortnight of serious awareness creation coupled with strict action. #OdishaCares. TMCs at GP-level have done a remarkable job in containing the spread; 95% of our positive cases are from quarantine centers,” Patnaik wrote in his timeline post in Facebook.
“This shows robustness of our systems and I appreciate all for working day & night towards our fight against #COVID19.My special appreciation for all those who handled #COVID19 on one hand and a super cyclone on the other hand and ensured zero casualty, restored road connectivity in 24 hrs and power connectivity in 48 hrs. #OdishaFightsCorona. People of state have sacrificed so much in all these and cooperated completely with government. Their sacrifice is the inspiration for us to run the extra mile in discharging our duty. #JaiJagannath,” the CM added.
