BHUBANESWAR: An awareness program for patients and staff was organised at the SUM Ultimate Medicare (SUMUM) here on Friday ahead of the World Heart Day.
World Heart Day was celebrated on September 29.Brig. (Dr.) Biraj Mohan Mishra, Chief of Medical Services, chaired the program which was also addressed by Dr. P.K. Panda, Medical Superintendent and Dr. Sarat Kumar Sahoo, Dr. Banabihari Mishra, Dr. Bibhutendra Mohanty and Dr. Sunil Mishra of the Cardiac Sciences department.
Brig. (Dr.) Mishra appreciated the work being done by the department while Dr. Sahoo focused on seven areas including diet, exercise, good sleep, keeping comorbidities under control and regular medical check-up for taking proper care of one’s heart.
Dr. Banabihari Mishra outlined the efficient management of cardiac emergencies. Dr. Mohanty spoke about the impact of tobacco which was causing cardiac ailments.
