BHUBANESWAR: As part of the Odisha Police’s flagship community policing initiative ‘Ama Police’, a community interaction meeting was successfully conducted today at the Bolagarh Police Station premises. The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from diverse stakeholders of the region, aiming to strengthen police-public cooperation and promote community-centric policing.
The meeting was graced by Superintendent of Police, Khordha Shri Vivekanand Sharma IPS, along with SDPO Khordha Nihar Ranjan Pradhan, IIC Bolagarh Police Station smt. Snigdhamayee Baral and other officers and staff of the police station. The presence of community representatives such as Sarpanchs of various Gram Panchayats, members of the Auto Rickshaw Drivers’ Association, representatives from the local Chamber of Commerce, and members from the media, press, and other local institutions reflected the inclusive and participatory spirit of the initiative.
During the interaction, the SP highlighted the objectives of the Ama Police program, emphasizing transparency, accountability, and proactive community engagement as cornerstones of modern policing. Citizens were encouraged to share their suggestions, grievances, and feedback directly with the police officers, fostering a spirit of mutual trust and collaboration.
The gathering deliberated on key local issues including traffic management, prevention of petty crimes, cyber safety awareness, and youth engagement. The participants appreciated the efforts of the Odisha Police in bridging the gap between the community and the police force, and assured their continued cooperation in maintaining peace and order in the region.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from IIC Bolagarh PS, reaffirming the police department’s commitment to serve the community with integrity and dedication.
